Microbiology and Biotechnology Letters (MBL) is an official publication of the Korean Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology (KMB), and distributed by the KMB worldwide.
Microbiology and Biotechnology Letters is devoted to the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge concerning microbiology and biotechnology related academic disciplines. It covers scientific and technological aspects of microbiology including Molecular and Cell biology, and Microbial Isolation; Enzymes and Bioactive Compounds; Fermentation and Bioprocess Engineering; Food, Environment, and Other Topics in Biotechnology
The manuscripts submitted for publication must be previously unpublished research works written in either Korean or English, which are not being considered for publication elsewhere. All papers will be critically read by at least two peer-reviewers who are selected for their competence in the subject matter of the paper. Acceptance of the paper will depend upon its scientific merit and suitability for the journal. A paper may be accepted in its original form or accepted subject to revision. The reviewers' (and editor's) suggestions will be conveyed to the author without identifying the reviewers and the author will have an opportunity for revision. If a manuscript returned to an author for revision is held longer than two months, or if revision is sufficiently extensive, the date of the receipt of the revised manuscript will be substituted for the initial date of receipt.
Galley proofs for an accepted article will be sent to the corresponding author for correction. These should be returned to the editorial office within 48h of receipt in order to expedite publication. The core content of an article can not be changed during galley proof reading.
To maintain and protect the Society's ownership and rights and to protect the original authors from misappropriations of their published work, the KMB requires author(s) to sign a copyright transfer agreement. This agreement is sent to the corresponding authors when a manuscript is accepted for publication. Unless this agreement is signed, the KMB will not publish the manuscript. Copyright is reserved by the KMB.
The journal is issued quarterly a year and published in part with financial support from the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies Grant funded by the Korean Government (MEST), and printed by Hanrimwon Publishing Co., 206-3 Ojang-Dong, Choong-Gu, Seoul 100-310, Korea.
